Get into action

Are you thinking of taking one of the Cambridge exams or preparing for IELTS? Would you like to improve your fluency by practising conversation with a native speaker? Then, look no further!

David Sweetnam is an Australian teacher currently based in Melbourne who's got a website called Get into English. This site is full of interesting articles and tips to help you pass your exams with flying colours.

David's site also features a number of interesting worksheets you can download. Some of these worksheets deal with personal relationships, which may be of particular interest to some visitors.

If you're still undecided, head for the section "References & Testimonials" and you'll see how other students are praising David to the skies!

  1. Hi Francisco thanks a lot for mentioning my blog, and also for popping in with your comments.

I still need to type up that worksheet on binomials which we discussed, and will def link to your site too, as your original list was the most extensive I've seen.

My site is likely to be more about exam tips and worksheets (based on spoken English) this year, and much less about motivation. If you have any ideas on how to improve it, I'm all ears :)

    Thanks again

    David

    1. That's all right.

There's no hurry, David. I like the worksheets and, if they are based on spoken English, so much the better!

  2. Yeah, that's the point. There's no point in doing Headway or Cutting Edge part 2, I want what I do to highlight some topics or aspects of vocabulary that might not get much attention in the main coursebooks. A recent sheet on adjectives to describe people had some frequent words, but strangely the textbooks just use the most obvious ones sometimes. Depends on the books.

Btw if you're interested, as a teacher I quite like the new Speak Out and Life series. They include videos as part of the programme and cover the 'traditional' and feature plenty of spoken English. If you've ever use them, let me know what you think of them :)
